There is a certain complacency that life will go on as we know it, and the sun will continue to rise and set. But there is a timetable which God keeps, and the Lord shall return. It is this certainty that reminds us to maintain a daily relationship with Christ.

There is also encouragement to remember him saying, that he is the resurrection and the life. Also, that to believe in him we will never die, even though we may die naturally. So, as we trust in Jesus our fears of judgement and death completely vanish!

The very fact that Jesus died for us is the measurement of how serious God is about sin. When Jesus Christ was crucified God was executing his judgement on sin. Because God allowed the crucifixion of his son to go ahead, it became a guilt offering. Our ledger account of personal sin is cleared. NO MORE TO PAY!!
