Increase your faith!

There is no question as to whether the Lord Jesus had faith. He had faith, period! Surely the essence of his faith was not whether it was weak or strong but rather the object of his faith. He knew that he belonged to God. the eternal God, the alpha and omega, the self-existent one…. the God called the ‘I AM’

The disciples asked the Lord to increase their faith… his response was that they only needed the small amount of faith, like the size of a mustard seed. So, the emphasis is not the size of our faith or the strength we have to believe. What matters is the object of our faith, so as we focus our faith on Christ things will happen. The result of our faith will always be what we believe he can do!

The early disciples found that they had a powerful faith weapon, something that enabled them to move from little faith to great faith. In a way, it was too simple… all they had to do was wield or use THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. As they used that NAME, they were having faith in the power that was behind the NAME.

Our method then for increasing faith is not found in some inner struggle but simply understanding that there is a NAME which is all powerful in Heaven and on earth. The limitation is whether or not we believe Jesus Christ is capable of doing what we ask. Two blind men wanted to be healed, Jesus challenged their faith, saying… “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” Matthew 9:28 NIV.

Our level of faith will always be equal to our accepting that Jesus is capable of doing what we ask. Our faith is not inward, but outward…to know, HE CAN!
