Effective Prayer!

We have all done our fair share of praying. We have prayed for others, and we have prayed for ourselves We have sought God’s guidance and help in so many areas of our lives. Yet so often we don’t know if our prayers were successful… were they effective?

VISUALIZATION – This may seem a strange term but remember that God wants to know what we are specifically praying for. If we are vague or uncertain God won’t know what we want. Jesus talked about this principle by saying we should believe we have already received what we are praying for and it will happen, (Mark 11:24). As we visualize in our mind the desires of our prayers, we are imagining them happening and faith can be released.

ACTIVATION – At some point we must verbalise our prayer. it is a little like lying in bed… you are awake but at some point, you must make the decision to get out of bed and actually get up. Prayer is the same… we can think about what we want to pray for, but we have to specifically ask before it happens. When we pray, we are touching heaven and then the Holy Spirit swings into action.

APPRECIATION – The priority of our relationship with God should always be one of praise and giving thanks. The Lord Jesus teaches us to hallow or honour the sacred and holy Name of God. So having visualized what we want and committed it in prayer we should start praising Him with thanksgiving for the answer.

So why not… PICTURE your prayer, PRAY your prayer, and start PRAISING!
