The Crocus flower mentioned in the Bible is a unique bulb which springs forth after a long hot and dry summer announcing coming winter rains. It’s bursting into bloom is symbolic of the coming of the Lord Jesus and the revealing of God’s GLORY!
It speaks to us today of the dry, desert like experiences of our lives… those times when we feel spiritually weak. We sometimes wonder whether we can keep going as problems way us down. But God encourages us to not be fearful for He will come!
Life was no different back in the days of Jesus of Nazareth, but he came with a message of hope. Not just consoling words but a real demonstration of God’s glory. There was healing and deliverance in the touch of the Saviour’s hands, but more than this… he came with a positive message of life for the human spirit.
Today, nothing has changed, for Jesus still comes into people’s lives to strengthen weak hands and those feet that struggle to keep going. The message of Jesus into our lives is still the same, “Be strong, do not fear…” Salvation is as broad as the need!
We must not put a limit on what Jesus can do! At the point of extremity when the hot dry summer of our lives seems to go on for ever… JESUS COMES! He wants to burst forth into our lives like the Crocus flower… our desert experiences will flourish again!
