We are all familiar with guarantees… it is reassuring to know that having purchased a new product it is protected by a guarantee against defects. The guarantee may have a time limit and conditions, but it is still very important.

A guarantee is basically an agreement that the manufacturer makes and is legally binding. When considering God’s promises they are also legal and more so, because God himself stands behind what He says to make sure it happens.

My last two blog posts have the titles… ‘The Power of Christ’s Blood’ & ‘Blood Bought’. This post still follows the theme about the blood that Jesus shed for us but now focusing upon the strength and power of God’s Covenant promises.

Humanly, a person can say, MY WORD IS MY BOND… in other words the person is saying they will always do what they have promised to do. God is wanting us to know that He also stands behind His Covenant words to make them good.

Jesus said, ‘This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.’ (Matt. 26:28). This is our guarantee that we really are forgiven and that God doesn’t remember our sin anymore, (Heb. 8:12).

But God’s Covenant or agreement with us is extra special because it is fully guaranteed and forever. It is a blood secured Covenant in the redeeming sacrifice of our Lord Jesus. That Covenant in his blood is an absolute and powerful guarantee that includes everything that we lost by the fall.

Now we can and are meant to fully enjoy this Covenant of PEACE… this means everything in our lives, not just to have spiritual healing but a body that can also be healed. The New Covenant is irrevocable by God… it is a blood Covenant.
