There is something about rocks that have stood the test of time… like Uluru, which is situated in the Northern Territory of Australia. Of course, there are many rock formations throughout the world. Civilisations come and go, and what is built finally crumbles into history. Yet these rock formations formed millions of years ago still stand today.
Our Christian beliefs are not idle notions we believe one day and then forget the next. No, our faith in Christ creates a reality in our lives which is permanent… it is like a rock that is there to stay.
It is important to be clear in our minds about what we believe. We know that in our baptism we are buried with Jesus in his death and we are also raised with him in his resurrection.
The Bible reminds us to reckon, consider, or count ourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus, (Romans 6:11). When we think about what God has done, our faith becomes solid.
The reality of our faith is that we are in fact a new creation, our old life has passed away, and a new life has really come.
